Quarley Parish Council
The Parish Council represents the Village of Quarley and its residents. It meets quarterly to discuss matters of interest to the village including planning applications and other village matters. The public is invited to attend although the meeting is not a public meeting but a meeting in public. This means that the public is invited to comment during a specific time during the meeting, as advised by the chair. Meetings are held in the village hall.

What is a Parish Council?
The Parish Council is an elected body responsible for local government within Quarley. The Parish Council represents the interests of the parish and liaises with other bodies involved in local government in the provision of local services, for example Hampshire County Council, and Test Valley Borough Council. The Parish Council receives funding primarily from the Borough Council through its precept - the annual allowance which sets the budget for the provision of services. The Parish Council may raise additional funds, directly from the community, and through grants, for special projects. The Parish Council is elected in its entirety every four years. Councillors serve for the full four years, and are unpaid. Councillors are governed by a mandatory code of conduct, which includes obligations to act with probity, and to disclose any personal interests which may be relevant to their work as a councillor.
